South Fort Myers Rotary names finalists for Officer of the Year

The Rotary Club of Fort Myers South announced the finalists for Officer of the Year, which will be announced at the 2017 Law & Order Ball.

The Officer of the Year finalists include four officers from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office — Capt. Christopher Reeves, Deputy Jennifer Gaytan, Corp. Bobby Hunter and Sgt. Josh Quaintance, and from the Lee County Port Authority, Master Officer Melissa Duncan.

The Officer of the Year will receive a custom award designed by jeweler and Rotarian Mark Loren.

The Law & Order Ball is at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Germain Arena in Estero.

Paying tribute to Lee County law enforcement officers, the event honors an “Officer of the Year” and raises funds to support local Law Enforcement Youth Programs and the Fort Myers Rotary South Foundation, a fund that distributes monies raised by the Fort Myers Rotary South to local nonprofits and law enforcement agencies.

Tickets are $175 each or $1,400 for a table of eight. Both are available online at LawAndOrderBall.org.

Attendees may also “Fund-A-Cop” by purchasing a special ticket that will sponsor an officer to attend. The blacktie optional gala is open to the public and includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a formal dinner, entertainment, silent and live auctions, raffles and surprises such as a wine pull and a balloon pop. A portion of funds raised at the event will be distributed among the honored agencies for their youth programs.

Creighton Construction and Development has returned as the Law & Order Ball’s presenting sponsor. Additional sponsors include LeeSar, Survival Armor Inc., CTN-10, Florida Weekly, Edison National Bank, Galloway Family of Dealerships, Mark Loren Designs, Rapid Print, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Myers Police Department, The Eventful Company, Armor Correctional Health, Enterprise Holdings, Gulf Coast Coin & Jewelry, Siesta Pebble, Red Roof Inn, Henderson Franklin Starnes & Holt, Suncoast Credit Union, Aubuchon Team of Companies, Maureen Grabowski, LCEC, BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company, Finemark Bank, Florida Gulf Coast University, Blue Chip Financial, HBKS Wealth Advisors, Old Sparky and Pushing the Envelope.
