Furnished models by Homes by Towne, Stock Development, Florida Lifestyle Homes, and Fox Premier Builders are open for viewing at Babcock Ranch, a new 18,000-acre eco-centric, solar powered town being developed by Kitson & Partners 20 minutes east of Fort Myers off Florida State Road 31 in Charlotte County just north of the Lee Civic Center. The models are situated in Babcock’s Lake Timber neighborhood and showcase the town’s Craftsman, Farmhouse, Coastal Gulf Vernacular, Spanish, and Colonial/West Indies architectural styles. Base-pricing of the model floor plans ranges from the mid-$300’s to the low $500’s. All residences at Babcock Ranch are built to Florida Green Building Coalition Certification standards.

Lake Timber’s lakefront green spaces and pathways, internal lakes, trail head facilities, lakeside fishing dock, observation deck, and Babcock Ranch’s first town garden reflect Kitson’s commitment to connecting with nature. Lake Timber is a short walk or bike ride from Founder’s Square, a 13-acre lakefront green space that anchors Babcock’s downtown district and features a band shell, boardwalk, splash pad, picnic tables, and shady areas for relaxing. Live music is featured at the band shell Tuesday and Saturday evenings. The Table & Tap restaurant provides an indoor and outdoor lakefront dining experience. An 80-year old oak tree transplanted from the Babcock property provides a backdrop for the restaurant’s beer garden. Woodlea Hall is home to the Discovery Center and to Curry Creek Outfitters that serves those eager to enjoy Babcock’s 50-miles of nature trails and numerous lakes. The Babcock Neighborhood School has opened for the 2017-2018 school year. Slater’s Goods & Provisions - a market that will offer a coffee shop, grab and go items, and the Square Scoops ice cream shop - and The Hatchery that will provide emeritus-level consultative opportunities are slated for completion later this summer. Construction of a wellness center is underway and scheduled for completion next spring.

Lake Timber’s Lake House neighborhood center is nearing completion and will include a lakefront pool, barbecue area, and playground. Inspired by the historic Cypress Lodge on the neighboring Babcock Ranch Preserve, the 2,400-square foot Lake House features soaring ceilings with exposed 24 x 24-inch beams and a two-sided stone fireplace. Exposed wood and natural materials used throughout the center compliment Lake Timber’s natural setting. Open interior spaces offer gathering places for neighborhood events. The interior showcases a family room-style seating area around the fireplace, a game room, and a kitchenette. Outside features a barbecue area with a grill, a 2,000-square foot deck, a 2,200 square-foot pool, bathhouse, playground, and an expansive lawn.
